This is The Ethos.

THE MOUNTAIN

One’s Mountain is their personal story, their pursuit of adventure & growth in their life.

POSITIVITY

We strive to be a positive influence on others and the environment through our work.  We look to celebrate others that do the same.

PRICELESSNESS

Experiences are priceless and can be enhanced through the built environment.

TIME

Time is our most precious resource. Time creates new memories in the days ahead.

OUTDOORS

Nature is the best teacher, original designer and infinite source of inspiration. Good design and recreation can bring you closer to the outdoors.

SUSTAINABILITY

Materials & best practices that can minimize impact on the environment and community.

QUALITY OVER QUANTITY

“The one who dies with the most toys” ..does not win.  Quality is sustainable, has value and can ultimately be timeless.

Todd’s Mountain

Born and raised in central NC, experiences exploring the coast and the mountains of NC first set the stage for a desire to understand spatial relationships and the “why”.

Earning a degree in Geography at Appalachian State University, led a path more West to Colorado to begin work in earnest as a young adult.  Work in Environmental Education and Open Space / Trails helped stabilize a foundation for a strong work ethic. But also, to further recognize the relationships and connections between people and the outdoors.

Interest in science, outdoor recreation and the built environment continued to not only take root, but grow.

Architecture – growing up for years with an original Milton Small designed MCM home behind our fence,, this was one of many trigger points to fuel not only a fascination with homes and buildings, but also an appreciation for good design.  Central NC has one of the largest concentrations of modernist homes in the United States. Through his 20s, calling Aspen, CO home, it was humbling to realize the rich history there – not in the monetary sense.  Like the Triangle Area of NC, Aspen’s post WWII architecture was and is a microcosm of modern design.  A valley with one of the most pure, original ideals of fostering the connection of humans to the outdoors through design and recreation.

The Outdoors – it only made sense by the middle of high school first jobs were at a local gear store (Great Outdoor Provision Co) and a bike shop.. despite them not wanting to hire workers under 18. Sport has manifested itself mainly in the form of skiing and cycling since being a child, though the latter turning into competitive racing for many decades. Fortunately able to reengage with the Outdoor Industry as an adult, Todd found himself working as a sales representative for The North Face among other brands..  A passion for the outdoors and how it relates to our lives, how the product is used & designed, remains an interest to this day. However, at the root of it all is nature itself, design perfected.

Real Estate – Peers had nudged for years to make the change, though it was becoming a father to twins in 2014 that offered a clear lens in totality. Quickly, it became apparent that Real Estate is far more than the product, numbers or metrics - it is the people.

Todd’s Mountain continues to unfold trail in front of him. Onward, upward.
